Denver Stay At Home EFY Day 2 (July 12th)

What a busy day for all those that attended EFY today (Tuesday 7-12-2011).  As with all days, it started with a morning devotional, gospel study as a "Company" and then the all gathered in the cultural hall for instruction from Brother Barker.

Prior to his instruction his dear wife recognized all those with birthdays today and presented them all with necklaces of remembrance.

Brother Barker gave a great lesson on "Staying on the Path".  Using a hair blower and ping pong ball he had the youth captivated with his analogy of straying from the path.  Fantastic doesn't even come close to describing the message.

He had the youth in the palm of his hand.

Following Bro. Barker the youth split into three groups and rotated through classes from Brother Palmer up from Colorado Springs, Brother Anderson from Mesa, Arizona and Brother Goss also from Colorado Springs.  There is no question these are special brethren.  I listened to four messages prior to seeing if I could blog and their messages were fantastic.  Here's a few photos from the classes...

Brother Anderson teaching on Missions....

Brother Goss teaching on Courage....

Brother Palmer teaching on "Fleeing Temptation"....

All three, as evidenced in the few pictures below, had the youth captivated...

Following the first rotation, the youth headed to the Thunder Ridge High School for lunch.  Here's a selection of lunch photos....

After lunch it was back to classes, musical program rehearsals and variety show tryouts.  Then back to Thunder Ridge for dinner.

After dinner it was dance instruction by a bunch of crazy counselors and staff.  Then the youth had their first of two dances (second is Friday night).

Our dance chaperones could take a lesson from the EFY Counselors....as they walked around the dance, full of excitement, if they found a girl or boy not dancing, they took them by the hand and matched them with someone of the opposite sex not dancing.  I've got to tell you that after about 6 dances, everyone was dancing and the counselors work was done.

After the dance it was personal scripture study and journal writing.  Contray to the dance, you could hear a pin drop when the youth were doing their study work.
